What Credit File Corrections is

A free website that helps you organize a credit report problem: understand the process, write down what is wrong, produce your own dispute letters, and keep track of what happens. It is operated by TBD-ENTITY-NAME, a consumer-services company.

What it is not

Not a law firm. We do not practice law, do not give legal advice, and do not represent anyone. Nobody here is your lawyer.
Not a credit repair organization pitch. We do not charge you, do not promise results, and do not act on your behalf. You do the work; we explain the process and hand you the tools.
Not an evaluator of your legal claim. We will never tell you your situation is strong or weak, is worth money, is likely to be accepted by a lawyer, or is a violation of anything. We are not permitted to, and we are not able to.
Not your agent with the bureaus. We do not submit disputes, do not log in as you, and never ask for your credit bureau credentials.

Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship

Nothing you read, enter, generate, or download here creates an attorney-client relationship with anyone. Information you enter on this site is not privileged simply because you entered it here. If you need the protections that come with talking to a lawyer, talk to a lawyer.

We make no promises about outcomes

We do not guarantee, and cannot guarantee, that any item will be deleted or corrected, that your credit score will improve, that a dispute will succeed, that anyone will owe you money, or that a lawyer will take your case. Any service that promises those things is making a claim it cannot keep.

Nothing goes anywhere unless you send it

Reading these pages, using the letter builder, and downloading templates transmit nothing to anyone. The letter builder runs entirely in your browser and we never receive what you type into it. Uploading, generating, or downloading anything does not begin any legal or statutory process, and does not put your situation in front of a lawyer.

The only thing that sends information anywhere is the attorney review request, which you have to go to and fill out yourself.

About the optional attorney review

Madgett Law, LLC is an independent Minnesota law firm and a separate business from Credit File Corrections. If you choose to request a review:

A request is not representation, and does not make you a client.
The firm may decline, and does not have to tell you why.
Representation begins only after conflicts are cleared and a separate written engagement agreement is signed.
No deadline in your situation is being protected for you at any point before that.
Information you give in a review request is handled by the firm under its obligations to prospective clients.

Credit File Corrections is not paid for this. No fee, no share of any recovery, no per-lead payment, no payment for recommending anyone. We do not receive legal fees, and we are not told what the firm decides about your matter.

We do not tell you that this firm is the best choice, the necessary choice, or the right choice for you. It is one option, you are free to take your documents to any lawyer, and you are free to take them to none.

The self-help tools are free. There is no paid tier, no subscription, and no upsell. We receive no commission, affiliate revenue, or other payment from any credit monitoring provider or from any other company mentioned on this site, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.

Where this is available

Credit File Corrections is currently offered to Minnesota residents. The general information about federal law applies nationally, but the site, and the optional attorney review, are set up for Minnesota.
