Who runs this site
You should know who is behind a free tool that asks you about your credit file. Here is the whole picture.
The operator
Credit File Corrections is operated by TBD-ENTITY-NAME, a consumer-services company. It is not a law firm, and it does not practice law.
The relationship with a law firm
Madgett Law, LLC, a Minnesota law firm, handles the optional attorney review. The two are separate businesses with separate systems, separate staff access, separate terms, and separate records.
| Credit File Corrections | Madgett Law, LLC | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Free self-help tools and education | Legal advice and representation |
| Can it tell you whether you have a claim? | No | Yes — that is a lawyer's judgment |
| Does it see your self-help work? | No — the letter builder runs in your browser | No, unless you request a review and authorize it |
| Does it get paid when you request a review? | No. Nothing, ever | Only under a signed engagement, if one happens |
| Are you its client? | No. There is no such thing here | Only after conflicts clear and you sign an engagement |
How this is funded
The site is free to use and takes no money from you. It receives no commission or affiliate revenue from credit monitoring providers, no per-lead payment from any law firm, and no legal fees. It does not sell or share your information. Its operating costs are funded by its owner.
Why that matters: a service paid per lead has a reason to push you toward a lawyer whether or not that serves you. Nothing on this site is compensated that way, which is why you will not find urgency language, a case-value estimator, or a "see if you qualify" button anywhere on it.
Why the site is built the way it is
- The letter builder never sends anything to us. The data we do not have is the data that cannot leak, be subpoenaed from us, or be repurposed.
- The review request is two steps. A law firm should not read the substance of your situation before it knows it is allowed to. Splitting it protects you if the conflict check comes back no.
- No scoring, ever. There is no field, screen, export, or internal metric anywhere that rates your situation. We do not build one because having one would change how we treat people.
- Sources are cited and dated. Every statutory statement links to the United States Code and says when it was checked.

Questions about the site go to support. Support cannot answer legal questions, tell you what to do about your file, or say anything about whether you have a claim — that is not a policy choice, it is the line between a website and a law firm.
